Equine Osteopathy is a complementary therapy, that formulates a fully unique treatment plan that can incorporate a range of techniques including:
Soft tissue work
Myofascial release (trigger point release)
Cranial techniques
Stretching
Articulation
Mobilisations

Vet consent:
In order to practice within the law it is essential for any initial appointment that vet consent is gained and anything of note in the horses past medical history is highlighted. This is not usually a problem a senior the majority of vets see the benefit Osteopathy can give.

Case history
We will find out a little bit about how we can help today, and what you do within your horse in daily life and any particular discipline.

Observational assessment
An observation of your horse standing and moving. This involves a walk up, trot up and turning. It may be beneficial to see your horse ridden, this can be in person or in a video

Examination
In this section the practitioner with have hands on assessment, feeling the muscles, ligaments and joints, in order ito identify areas of restriction, tenderness, tension and imbalance. If required full neurological screens can also be performed.

Treatment
Each treatment is unique to every horse as every patient requires something’s slightly different. A treatment plan is then formulated combining the above techniques.

Aftercare
Any appropriate after treatment care, stretching or any ‘homework’ will also be provided to help the horse recover and the owner to see rapid improvement

Equine Massage £60 / 60mins

One hour appointment which will involve:
-Vet consent is a legal requirement for anyone treating animals in the UK, this is not usually an issue as most vets understand the benefits
-A brief case history on how I can help
-I would like to see the horse move to assess restrictions and movements, this can be over a video or a walk and trot up and turning
– Hands on assessment
– Treatment involving a range of soft tissue techniques best suited to the horse
– Aftercare advice
